Boards only, or the whole structure?
Replacing a few fence panels is different from removing posts and their bases. A deck surface replacement may leave the framing in place, while a complete rebuild produces boards, beams, railings and stairs. Describe the actual scope instead of booking from the deck's floor area alone.
Walk through the plan with whoever is doing the work. Note the length of the largest pieces, the parts being kept and any waste already stored underneath. Record whether the wood is painted, stained, treated or unidentified. Those details help us review the proposed load, but they do not establish acceptance on their own.
Make a short material list before choosing a bin
Use this worksheet during your contractor conversation. Keep heavy bases separate in the plan even if they are still attached to posts. Do not assume soil, concrete or treated wood can go with other debris. Ask about every material and mixture before booking.

Deck lumber is not ordinary seasonal yard waste
An outdoor project does not turn every discarded item into yard waste. Oshawa's large-item collection guidance distinguishes certain bundled household wood items from wood generated by construction or demolition. The latter is excluded from that program. Do not leave a deck tear-out at the curb expecting a booked furniture collection to cover it.

The Region currently says leaf and yard waste is not accepted at its waste management facilities. Confirm destinations before combining wood, garden debris and other waste. Facility rules and a private rental's approved load are separate checks.
Check piece length and the route from the backyard
Compare the available bin shapes and dimensions with the largest pieces on your list. Long rigid panels can leave gaps that smaller offcuts would not. A calculated volume cannot guarantee that intact sections fit, and visible room does not establish the remaining weight allowance.
For a backyard project, identify where material will travel to the bin. Discuss gates, stairs, parked vehicles and the space needed for delivery and pickup. Give the contractor and rental provider the same plan
Before booking, check whether your contractor already includes disposal. Agree who dismantles the structure, carries the pieces and loads the bin. Our self-loading rental does not include demolition or a loading crew. Put one person in charge of contacting us if hidden footings, extra framing or unexpected material changes the job.

Can treated deck boards go in your bin?

Can I put fence posts with concrete still attached into the bin?
Not without a specific discussion and approval. Concrete bases change the material and weight requirements. Keep them separate in your plan and confirm an appropriate disposal route before removal.
Will Bin and Gone dismantle my deck or fence?
