What needs to happen before the listing photos?
Ask your real estate representative which rooms and outdoor areas need to be ready first. The useful deadline is the earliest photography, staging or showing appointment. If the driveway will be photographed, discuss bin collection before that appointment too. Confirm delivery and pickup availability before building the rest of your schedule around them.
This is a planning checklist, not a promised turnaround. A small tidy-up may need no rental. Several storage areas may take longer to sort than expected.

How do you avoid throwing away something you still need?
Set up separate areas for keep, donate or sell, approved disposal, and undecided items. Use labels everyone helping can understand. Keep documents, spare keys, family photographs and small valuables out of the loading route. Someone carrying a box should not have to guess which pile it belongs to.
Check decisions with anyone who owns the belongings. Also confirm which fixtures, appliances or other items are meant to stay with the property before moving them. A bin booking is not permission to discard someone else's property. Finish those decisions before helpers arrive so your loading time is spent loading, not reopening every box.
Do you need a bin for every unwanted item?
No. Usable items may have a donation or resale route, provided the recipient accepts them and collection fits your schedule. For a few eligible bulky items, check Oshawa's Large Item Collection program. It requires booking and has item, property and preparation conditions. Do not leave a pile at the curb expecting an automatic pickup.
A residential bin rental becomes more useful when approved unwanted items are spread through several rooms and you want one agreed loading period. Which bin should you discuss for the clearout?
Make one list of the largest pieces and a second list of smaller contents. Note long furniture, awkward shapes and anything from renovation work. Where will the bin go while the house is being prepared?
Think about more than the empty parking space. Your cleaners, movers and staging delivery may need that same route. Agree a bin position that leaves a safe path from the house and lets the collection truck return. Discuss shared driveways, gates and overhead obstacles before delivery.
