Give usable furniture its own plan
Before putting everything in the disposal pile, separate pieces you want to keep, give away or offer for reuse. Check whether the intended recipient will accept the item's condition and who will collect it. Do not assume a donation organization offers pickup or accepts every sofa.
Set a decision date for items awaiting collection. If that arrangement falls through, update the rental item list before loading. Keeping a separate reuse list makes it easier to choose a bin for what is actually being discarded.
Check the City option for a small load
Oshawa's large-item program lists sofas, tables, chairs, mattresses and box springs. Booking has no fee, but eligibility, item limits and preparation rules apply. Multi-residential arrangements can require the property manager. Check the City's current instructions before putting furniture outside.
A rental is a different option for a larger or ongoing clearout. You load the agreed items during the rental period, and collection is arranged with Bin and Gone. Compare the whole job rather than assuming a bin is needed for one chair.

Measure the awkward piece first
A sectional sofa, rigid wardrobe or long table can shape the whole plan. Note the overall dimensions and any parts that are designed to detach. Do not rely on a pickup-truck illustration or a cubic-yard number as proof that a particular item will fit.
Compare the bin shapes and dimensions, then ask about the available container and usable opening. Tell us about mattresses, appliances or other special items separately so they are reviewed before being added to the load.

Put the people and dates in the same plan
