Finish decisions before delivery
Sorting can take longer than carrying. Decide what stays, what may be given away and what is approved for disposal before the bin arrives. Keep items awaiting someone else's decision outside the loading plan.
For a renovation, ask when the contractor expects to start producing debris. The first day of the overall project may be a measuring, setup or preparation day. Match the bin to the work that needs it, subject to delivery availability.
Count your real loading windows
A free weekend is not automatically two full workdays. Account for work shifts, other commitments, the people helping and the route from each room. A basement clearout needs a different schedule from already sorted items beside an accessible loading area.
Leave time for breaks and a change of pace. CCOHS identifies repetition and fatigue as lifting risks and recommends breaks. Do not make the plan depend on rushing the last heavy items before pickup.

Find the last task that creates waste
For a room renovation, the largest pile may appear early, while smaller scraps appear during installation. Ask which later tasks will produce material and whether those items belong in the same approved load.
Compare keeping the bin through those tasks with discussing a later rental. Do not assume an exchange, second delivery or extension is available. The right choice depends on the work sequence, the remaining waste and the arrangements confirmed with Bin and Gone.
If several people are involved, name one contact to report timeline changes. Put the bin's pickup arrangement on the shared project schedule so a trade does not arrive expecting a container that has already left.
Check the dates you cannot move
Work backward from a property handover, loss of driveway access or another scheduled delivery. Tell us the deadline when you enquire and allow room between finishing the load and the point when access ends.

Agree pickup and changes in advance
Confirm when the rental period starts and ends, whether pickup is scheduled or must be requested, and how to ask for more time. A preferred date becomes an arrangement only after availability is confirmed.
As soon as a delay becomes likely, contact Bin and Gone. State what is left to load and the revised date you need. Confirm the response before telling helpers or contractors that the rental has been extended.

It can only be judged from the sorting, available help and amount to load. Plan those tasks first, then check whether the dates and rental period you need are available.
Should the bin stay for the entire renovation?
Not necessarily. Identify the debris-producing stages and discuss the suitable rental window. Do not assume later packaging or scraps are part of the original approved load.
Can I extend the rental if work runs late?
Contact Bin and Gone before the arranged pickup. Additional time depends on availability and the terms confirmed with you; an extension is not automatic.
